Description
This image captures a Turkey Vulture in flight at Pueblo Lake State Park located in southern Colorado.
Turkey Vultures spend a lot of time soaring and can travel great distances in relatively short periods of time. Although they look awkward and ungainly on the ground and must work hard to gain flight, they are a picture of grace and elegance in flight, soaring in beautiful arcing flights across the sky. They rarely need to flap their wings as they spend most of their time soaring on the rising air currents.
